The Latest in Golf
Instruction
There are several key ingredients to
becoming the best player you can be.
These ingredients revolve around developing consistency, efficiency, and
repeatability of your golf swing. I
would like to focus on two of these which relate to new and exciting
instruction opportunities for you here at Kingsmill. The first is the Physical aspect. This includes your fitness, posture,
nutrition, hydration and the balance of rest and activity. We have developed new and exciting programs
to address the physical aspects of your game.
Have you ever wondered why you have difficulty eliminating the slice
from your game? There are now exercises
you can do in the off-season to eliminate this silly slice. The second is the Technical aspect. This includes your swing, grip, stance, aim,
fundamentals, and ball and club fitting.
In utilizing the K-Vest, which is a wireless 3-D motion analysis system
that effectively monitors body and club movement throughout the golf swing, we
can apply specific drills and strategies to make you a more consistent player.
The Physical and Technical aspect of
you game play an important role in you developing consistency, efficiency, and
repeatability of your golf swing. I
encourage all of you to take advantage of the latest in golf instruction
technology that is available here at Kingsmill to help improve your own game
throughout this winter.

Play “Lay Back”
to Improve Short Putting
Purpose:
Here is a game that will improve your putting under
pressure, especially in the critical three-to-five-foot range. In addition to making you tougher mentally,
it makes putting practice fun.
Procedure:
Putt to any hole and
if you fail to sink the putt, move the ball farther back by a full putter
length. Continue doing this until you
make the putt. Playing with a partner
makes this game even more fun. The low
score on the hole wins. Don’t be
surprised if you take three or four putts on the first few holes! Continue to practice this drill and not only
will you make longer putts but the three-to-five-foot range will become much
easier.
If you have any questions or would like additional drills on
putting, please call the Kingsmill Golf
Academy
